Non-negotiable

Never share recovery words

Never share your seed phrase, private keys, wallet password, or recovery words with any website or support agent. Anyone who has them can potentially control the wallet.

Do not type them into forms, paste them into chats, store them in cloud notes, or photograph them for convenience.

Convenience is the usual doorway for wallet secrets to leave your control.

Storage

Use offline storage you can protect

Write recovery words clearly and store them somewhere protected from theft, fire, water, and casual discovery. Consider whether another trusted person needs emergency instructions, but do not casually duplicate sensitive material.

A password manager may be appropriate for some users and risky for others. The key question is whether you understand the threat model and backup process.

Support scams

Reject urgency and secrecy

Scammers often create pressure: your wallet is locked, your funds are pending, your account must be validated, or support can only help privately. Slow down. Real safety work does not require panic.
